Policy Researcher/Analyst
What You’ll Be Doing
• Working for a small regulator responsible for economic regulation of a subsector of the broadcasting industry. Part of small team of 5 part time people, who have significant expertise and experience in discreet areas including economic regulation, broadcasting sector policy, regulation and contracts, and financial and technical solutions.
• Work would be of a project-based nature providing excellent opportunities to be involved in a range of specialisms. To an extent, the projects can be shaped to fit the successful applicant’s expertise and knowledge, but they would also be expected to take on some projects that might be outside their comfort zone. Within a small team, the successful candidate would also be expected to work on some projects, or assist others in the team, on areas that might seem mundane but will be critical to successfully complete these projects.
* The role could be full-time or part-time for the 6-month duration.
Person Requirements
• Graduated with knowledge of at least one relevant area (economics, public policy (including regulation), commercial law, business strategy, major infrastructure communications network industries.
• Research and analytical skills, written and spoken communications skills
• The ability to work independently combined with knowing when to refer upwards for advice is important.
• Also, given the nature of the work, they would need to be comfortable with working where often there isn’t a clear brief.
• A team player with honesty, integrity, and discretion.
