B2B/Key Account Intern
Job Description
On behalf of our client, VisitBritain, we are currently sourcing for an Intern to join their growing e-commerce platform VisitBritainshop.com as part of the Commercial Division, on a 12-month industrial placement. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in e-commerce, Tourism, technical skills and also client’s relationship management in a fast-paced and highly ambitious environment.
This is a key Accounts role, focused on B2B relationships with key UK suppliers and overseas trade for VisitBritainshop.com, providing support on product and trade inbox, contracting new UK products and uploading on platform, writing and updating product copy and special offers, providing administrative support to marketing materials, legal, pricing and compliance to processes in general.
Responsibilities:
To assist the Senior Product Manager and the Product team on the day to day tasks, and contribution to the support of the wider e-commerce division in order to maximise revenue by providing the best possible process stream and revenue generating projects for the business.
Role will include some aspects of the following:
1. Product and affiliates:
* Work with the Senior Product Manager and Product and Affiliate/B2B team to upload and contract new products for the e-commerce platform
* Work with the team on product updates, repricing, promotions, merchandising, product schedule and issues log ensuring all shops are kept updated daily
* Work with the team and the Finance Department to spot checking invoices and facilitating the sign up and ongoing process optimisation for affiliate accounts
* Build, update and provide support in sourcing special offers from suppliers, accessible and useful for the team and the organisation
2. E-commerce & reports:
Work with the team to:
* Maximise the commercial potential of the shops & merchandising to drive sales by continuous work on the e-commerce platform
* Write copy and update shop content and images for the website
* Produce sales reports & performance analysis reports when required
* Manage shop categories, fully embracing all aspects of the e-commerce platform and its components, proactively suggesting enhancements to the system and its processes and delivering to tight deadlines
3. Client relationship
Work with the team to:
* Deal promptly and helpfully with supplier, trade and affiliate emails, helping clients with their daily queries
* Support the product team in all aspects of the product, trade and affiliate process ensuring the shop is presented to its best capabilities and that clients queries are dealt with good manners and within time frames
* Monitor the e-commerce platform for issues which might deter customers from buying or prevent trade partners from working with us and to proactively suggest ways of combating these issues
* Represent VisitBritain at selected trade events and meetings if and when applicable
4. Team work
* Proactively contribute to the success and workload of the team as required, data entry and checking, creative problem solving, producing reports and presentations, special requests and embracing a team spirit
* To represent VisitBritain in a professional way, embracing matrix working, open communication and team excellence

Person Requirements
Education/Qualification:
* Open to undergraduates looking for a year’s placement
* Open to Tourism, Marketing, Business Degree preferable – with clear interest and experience in e-commerce, Tourism and client relationships
Essential:
* Good knowledge and experience in the skills required (reflected on the role advertised)
* Interested in and able to show interest in working in an e-commerce environment, back-end systems and solving complex product requirements
* Fully able to commit to a one-year placement
* Happy to assist during occasional out of hours tasks if and when required
* Open minded and proactive approach, with a desire to solve problems for colleagues, to communicate and use own initiative in a team work capacity
* Able to prioritise personal workload in order to ensure tight deadlines are met
